OA doesn’t stand a chance – Get GLA:D, get moving

At Hawkstone Physical Therapy, we are proud to offer the GLA:D Canada program, an 8-week education and exercise program designed specifically for individuals with stiff or painful knees and hips, or those diagnosed with knee or hip osteoarthritis. GLA:D stands for “Good Life with osteoArthritis: Denmark”.

GLA:D Canada is a comprehensive program that combines education and structured exercise to help individuals better manage the symptoms of osteoarthritis, reduce pain, and improve overall function. This program has been backed by extensive research from GLA:D in Denmark, which shows that participants experience less pain, reduced use of painkillers, fewer sick days, and greater physical activity.

The GLA:D program is divided into two main parts: education and exercise sessions.

Education Sessions

Participants will attend one 2-hour education session, where they will learn valuable information about osteoarthritis, its causes, and how to manage its symptoms. The education portion of the program is designed to empower participants with knowledge, allowing them to take an active role in managing their condition.

Exercise Sessions

The exercise portion of the GLA:D program includes twelve 60-minute group sessions that are supervised by a Hawkstone physical therapist. These sessions focus on building strength, stability, and proper movement patterns to help improve joint function.

The GLA:D program is an excellent option for individuals looking to manage their osteoarthritis symptoms and improve their overall quality of life. If you are interested in learning more or would like to register for the program, please contact us. We look forward to helping you live pain-free and return to doing the things you love!
