Alberta Health Services
Hawkstone Physical Therapy is pleased to offer orthopedic and general assessments through Alberta Health Services for patients with a valid Alberta Health Care card. Alberta Health Services may cover some of the cost of physical therapy, however the amount of coverage will vary depending on your injury. As of March 1, 2022, Alberta Health Services has made some changes to how they fund and provide Physical Therapy services in the province of Alberta. These changes will affect all Albertans who are wanting to access treatments funded by AHS.
We are pleased to announce that we will be contracted under the new AHS model.
What does the AHS funding look like?
If you have had a fracture or a surgery in the last 12 weeks, you are eligible for funding through AHS. Patients can call the clinic to book their initial visit and will receive a 1:1 assessment with one of our Physical Therapists and an additional 3-4 follow-up treatments.
If you have had a Knee or Hip Replacement in the last 12 weeks, you also are eligible for funding through AHS. Patients can call the clinic to book their initial visit and will receive a 1:1 assessment with one of our Physical Therapists and an additional 6 Group Exercise Classes.
If you have any questions about Alberta Health Services coverage, please don’t hesitate to call us.
We know it can be tough to figure out what is and what isn’t covered. Our goal is to make sure nothing stands in the way of you getting the treatment you need to live a full and pain-free life.
It’s pre-season Hockey time!
