Maria graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology as an Occupational and Physiotherapy Assistant in April 2022. She joined the Hawkstone team in June 2022. Maria is currently working towards building her experience and networking skills.

Growing up in a Latin family, Maria enjoyed playing soccer and salsa dancing but was very clumsy. Consequently, doctors recommended attending physiotherapy. This was the first instant she realized how the right treatment could transform people’s lives and allow them to perform the activities they enjoy most.

Maria has always has a passion for helping people and has volunteered in organizations such as the CNIB foundation and the Calgary Drop-In & Rehab Centre Society.

In her spare time, Maria enjoys going for nature walks and hikes, joining Zumba and aerobic classes at the gym, rollerblading throughout the city, and downhill skiing with friends and family.
